Why we celebrate Christmas

From Etsy.com

Christmas is for the poor… Christmas is for the weak… Christmas is for the broken-hearted…The lonely…and the meek. It’s the magic of Christmas that can heal our hearts. Christmas movies often portray beautiful families with a simple message: a lesson learned, usually. There is almost always a happy ending.

But Christmas is not only about gifts under the tree, and togetherness with family. It’s about something greater. It’s not about what you get, but what you’ve already got–a Savior. Jesus entered our hearts. Born of the Virgin Mary, at a time when babies were put to death because the king sought to kill Him.

As a man He changed the course of history. A human sacrifice. He died for you and for me. Sent by God, the Holy Father, He performed miracles, signs, and wonders that could not be performed by men. Fully human, and fully divine, He rose again! Christmas is about hope, and Christmas is about peace.

Christmas is about Jesus. He is the reason for the season.
